Making Cards for Daddy

One afternoon Ella and I decided to make cards for Daddy. Ella thought that was pretty cool but also insisted on making a card for herself. She didn't quite grasp the concept. ;-)

The Sickies

Ella caught a yucky cold a few weeks ago (which Keith and then Anna proceeded to catch...I avoided it thankfully!) so on one of the days she really wasn't feeling well we built a little fort for her to sit in and watch TV. I used to love to do that when I was a kid!

Ella is at Nana's house this afternoon and Anna is taking her afternoon nap, so that means I get to catch up on personal photos and blogging. Yippee!

Going back to August, we had the Johnsons over for pizza and sprinkler fun one Saturday night. Ella and Grey had a quick playtime in the sprinkler and then headed inside to cuddle up on the couch with a good book. The other day I asked Ella who her best friend is (fully expecting the appropriate response of Mommy) and she replied "Grey!" They're such good buddies. :-)

Ella and The General

I have a bunch of pictures to go through from my dad's retirement, but this is one that stood out. Ella was a handful during the ceremony to say the least and wanted to be up on the stage in the worst way. Finally, we just let her go up and she took her place of honor beside the general (my dad's former boss). Good grief!! And see the little bottle of water beside her chair? Yep, she knocked it over and it went everywhere about 5 minutes after this picture was taken. ;-)

Happy 79th Mawmaw!

My grandmother celebrated her 79th birthday on August 28th. As she likes to say, she's beaten the odds because the average life expectancy for women is 78. Way to go Mawmaw!! :-) She's in great health so we're looking forward to celebrating many more birthdays with her. For her special day, we had a yummy dinner at my parent's house and then ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Delish!

Exersaucer

Anna had her first go in the Exersaucer this week. She likes it! She's still so little, but when I put her in there she seems to enjoy standing upright and watching everything around her. I'm sure it won't be long before she's playing with all the toys on it too. Ella thinks that it's a toy for her too and likes to get in there. She's way too big and pretty much has to kneel to fit in there. I need to take a picture because it looks pretty funny. :-)

Welcome Back Uncle Kevin!

Well, Keith's brother has officially finished training and is now a border patrol agent. Way to go Kevin! We are just so proud of him. :-) He was able to come home for a quick visit in August and got to meet Anna for the first time. It was so good to see him and we know he is going to do a fantastic job down there in Texas. But we will definitely miss him!

After dinner we headed over to see the horseys...one of Ella's favorite things to do when visiting Meemaw and Pawpaw




Ella actually sat on one of the horses until another one came up and startled her...that was the end of that!
