Anna is 4 Months Old!

Anna is now 4 months old! Time - I demand you to stop!! It's funny with a 2nd child because she still seems like a newborn to me, but with Ella she seemed so old at 4 months. I guess when you have a toddler to compare them to, it makes a difference. Anna is just such a happy baby...she smiles and coos all the time. She's a great sleeper and is content most of the time. She does like to be held though and already has mommy suckered into lots of snuggle time in the evening (as though I mind). She's still swaddled when she sleeps and I'm scared to stop because she's sleeping 12 hours straight at night now. I guess I'll do it until college if she keeps sleeping well! Haha...kidding! :-) She visited Dr. Trumbull today for her checkup and shots and did great. This morning she weighed 13lb. 6oz. and was 24.5' long which puts her in the 50th percentile across the board (it says 13lb. on her picture because that's what she was when I weighed her at home on the 27th).

Lots of Pics!

I am getting so behind on blogging due to it being the busy holiday season for my photography business (not complaining!). So, here's a bunch of pictures from the past couple of weeks...

I meant to post this with our Atlanta trip post...all the kids conked out on the way home...Anna was asleep in front of Katelyn, you just can't see her:

It's a Daddy pileup!

Anna looks like such a chunk in this pic!

Sisterly love...

Smiley girl...I have to capture Anna's smiles in multiple shots because she's so expressive :-)

Working on her "puzzle pieces" as she calls it:

I think Anna is starting to teeth...she's loving those fingers!

Atlanta

There's a photography workshop called The Learnfest that 4 incredible photographers (Audrey Wouldard, Laura Novak, Tamara Lackey, and Lena Hyde) put together. Their 3rd installment of it was located at Chateau Elan just outside of Atlanta. So a couple of weeks ago, one of the photographers "Audrey Woulard" (whose work I absolutely LOVE) posted on her blog that she still needed a couple of child models for the shooting portion of the workshop. Well, Lori and I jumped on that immediately and emailed her that we would be glad to drive 3+ hours and spend the night in a hotel with 4 kids aged 3 months, 1, 2, and 4! What were we thinking!?!? Haha. :-) It sure was a C-R-A-Z-Y trip, but definitely a once in a lifetime experience and something we just didn't want to miss out on. Did I mention that Audrey will be sending us a disc with all the images she captured? I am so ecstatic because I love her portraits and she's a little out of my price range. ;-) The kids did great during the photo session...it was fun to watch them perform for about 15 photographers shooting them from all different angles! It will be awhile until we receive the images from Audrey, but I'll post some more pics captured as they come in from the photographers.

They were ready for their photo op!

As if we weren't crazy enough, we decided to stop at Ikea on the way home. I've never been before and WOW...it's cool! It's like an amusement park! And, they have very yummy chocolate bars. :-)

I think it's time to head home...

1st Haircut!

We traveled to Atlanta last week with Lori for all four of our kids to model for a photography workshop (more on that later). Since I wanted Ella to be especially cute and well groomed for that, I new it was time for her 1st haircut. We went to see Ms. Robin at Inspire Salon (she's been cutting my mom's and my hair for years...I think since back in the 90's) and she got a little trim just to even everything up. Ella went with me to get a haircut a few weeks ago and ever since she has been asking to get one of her own. So she was especially excited that day and talked about it all morning until our appointment. And she did so well in the chair...sat very still (which we all know is rare for Ella) and watched herself in the mirror.

Very excited before beginning:

Getting all sprayed down:

The first cut:

And voila! All done!

Thanks Ms. Robin!

Anna's Baptism

Anna was baptized at Frazer on September 6th, 2009. She did great! John Schmidt, our contemporary teaching pastor performed the ceremony and Anna was just as sweet as she could be through the whole thing. He also baptized Ella two years ago on September 9th, 2007. After the worship service we had a small reception in the parlor. It was a good day!

Lori took the pictures for us at the church and did an awesome job as usual!

Had to get a Cake Design cake for the occasion...yummy!!

At the reception Anna was very content to be all snuggled up and sleep the time away

We even graced the cover of this week's bulletin!

For fun, a pic from Ella's baptism two years ago. When John put the water on her head, she went crazy trying to lick it as it dripped down her face

I have a video and spent a ton of time trying to upload it but couldn't get it to work. Oh well...

Enjoying Family and Friends

A bunch of family and friends came into town last weekend to celebrate my dad's retirement and Anna's baptism (more pictures of both coming soon). It was so much fun to spend time with everyone. There were lots of laughs that weekend for sure!

What happens when my dad gets a hold of the camera without supervision and without his glasses on? You get lots of blurry, crazy photos! Oh well, better blurry and crazy than none at all. :-)

PopPop and his girls before leaving for his ceremony:

A few weeks ago I posted a picture of the girls with Mawmaw...here they are with their other great-grandma Grams who flew in from Sedona, AZ:

Acting silly with PopPop's helmet:

All the women on my mom's side of the family (mom, aunt, grandmother, etc. except me) have beautiful blue eyes so I guess that's where Anna gets her baby blues from:
